If I am recalling correctly, early on I began noticing familiar patterns of behavior that showed up over and over again in different settings. The same conversation, the same script, the same escape, the same blame, the same tone of voice, the same anger, the same excuse, the same meeting, the same conclusion, etc. The same. Stuck and spinning in a version of the same outcome.Β
I noticed the patterns even as an active participant. As if I was watching it all play out like a hovering ghost.Β

Itβs my own Quiet Time that salvages a sense of my own human decency and calibrates me to what is possible. Life makes sense in Quiet Time. My Quiet Time is like a childhood βghoulβ. In my neighborhood growing up there was a lot of nighttime play. My backyard was in the middle of two houses and was often βghoulβ – the safe zone. When I get too far outside of my regulated state, I know that from 2-4:30am I have ghoul. Iβll return to the safe space. It exists no matter where I am. Quiet Time.
