Here we are on February 29, 2024.
The excerpt I am sharing was written on February 29, 2020.
In regard to somethingmore, I themed the March content to be anticipation. December 2019 is when I picked the themes for the months based on time of year. March is the anticipation of Springtime and new beginnings. An interesting contrast looking back…or perhaps, an irony? Was it a new beginning?
Overall, I did not have a bad experience of the time of Covid. I did not like wearing masks, and there was a daunting energy waiting in line for the grocery store, but overall I think I was in a general headspace that it would be over soon. And I stayed in that space. I did have a bad experience of politics and the ripples. I think the quarantine, and more time on media in general, contributed to what became a bit of an obsession ‘against’. It seems interesting what is happening now (2024) as compared to four years ago. As for me, I may not know what the best decision is moving forward, but I am quite clear of what I do not want to repeat, and that is the devisive energy and partiality that I contributed to June 2020 – January 2021.
It’s interesting to use the time of Covid as a global point of reference to apply the skills, tools, and strategies shared throughout somethingmore, as well as abetterway which is posted on Sundays.
Reflective Questions:
- Can you use the time of Covid as a reference point for personal growth? Are you stuck and spinning in the same energy patterns as you were four years ago? Or, do you observe less intensity? less duration, or length of time experiencing certain feelings? less often or frequently, has the frequency of the unhelpful patterns lessened?
- Can you consider what has improved or changed for the better since this general time four years ago? Four years is a long time to hold the same negative pattern. Part three of storyitell can be a tool to start disrupting the patterns that are stuck and spinning in the same unhelpful outcome.
- You may not consider the time of Covid to be something that happened FOR you, but are you open to say: ‘it happened’. And/or state factually events that happened without judgment, comparison, or criticism. Assertively state: ‘ ________ happened’. Now what? Negative things happen. Horrible things happen. To stay stuck and spinning in a story against what happened may seem reasonable, but does it lead to better outcomes? Can you shift the story to get some relief; and then continue to grow in a direction the creates incremental space to live a more balanced experience of day?
And here is the excerpt:

On Sundays, I am posting excerpts from abetterway. This past weekend, I created a video to show some of the symbols for the language I use throughout my content shares.
