When I open my laptop to write, I often/always begin randomly. Eventually I get into the flow of the post and delete the random. I think this first sentence is funny, so I’m going to leave it in:
I love the idea of a personal assistant who is exceptional at everything I am not.
😅
There are two main things I’d like to accomplish in today’s blog post:
- Discuss Fire Ant energy.
- Promote abetterway. Using Inner Resources to create your own Algorithm.
First the Fire Ant:
- aggression, rigid thinking, following orders
- flares up without noticing
- the force that attracts us to people and situations that feed our imbalances
- gossiping and blaming are indicators that the misaligned energy pattern is at play
- “stewing” on a person or situation to only make things worse
Anyone recognize the Fire Ant energy inside of them?
To notice the energy pattern is self awareness/mindfulness.
To care about yourself is to be curious about the pattern: does it feel good? is it helpful? does it keep you stuck or spinning in a version of the same undesirable outcome?
When we care about ourselves (self-care), we slow down to notice unhelpful patterns, and we are open to creating new patterns that allow for sustainable outcomes that contribute to a better way for self and ultimately for humanity.
When we increase our capacity to notice unhelpful patterns (Quiet Time) and create new patterns for more helpful outcomes, the effects ripple outward to those we interact with in day.
Discuss Fire Ant energy.
Now for abetterway. Using Inner Resources to create your own Algorithm.
To reference the first sentence that was supposedly random, I would love a personal assistant to promote my content. I have resistance to the many tasks involved in bringing day.llc to life. The inner resources I have within me to accomplish the tasks are the very thing abetterway is about: executive functions.
Below I have shared the preface and the first chapter. The book is broken down into 12 chapters for each month, and generally includes four weekly posts in each chapter. I would like to promote it as a self-reflective tool for 2024. The book can be used as a guide for Quiet Time: January week one can reflect on the first post, week two the post that correlates with the date-ish, and so on.
Obviously I have made growth in the intentional use of the general skill ‘Getting Started’, or task initiation. If it were not true, there would be no 2021 year of blogs, and no hard copy of abetterway.
Writing and publishing a book completed a cycle: begin, sustain, finish. It’s not an end game. To end, is to begin again. And the cycle continues.
When we recognize the skillsets that lie underneath desired outcomes, it shifts our focus to growing the skill rather than be obsessed with the external result. When we notice the skills and how they work, it grows awareness into the process of completing what may seem like simple outcomes (daily chores).
What I notice is older persons noticing skill deficits in younger persons (I asked you to ____, How hard is it to _____, How many times do I need to repeat myself, etc). This is an external experience of observing outcomes or ‘product’, rather than recognizing there is a process – incremental steps that lead to desired outcomes that can be taught and reinforced, and lead to sustainable results.
There’s a lot to uncover in this example: what’s my why? (why do I desire the outcome from the other), and then what? (if I get the expected outcome from the other, what happens next? are there sustainable results, or does the pattern continue?)

Click here to purchase colored soft cover.
There is also a colored, hard cover that I LOVE. It’s quite expensive to purchase on Amazon. Next step for me is to purchase author copies from Amazon and create my own online store to sell all the books directly. They will be less expensive. I have them priced to receive $5 per book sale.
