a better way. week one (pt II)

On Sunday, I posted pt I.

pt I shares the ‘front matter’ of abetterway. using inner resources to create your own algorithm

pt II will be taken from the first post in chapter one: initiate. The title of the chapter and the first entry are the same.

Here are three main ideas taken from the excerpt:

  1. Do you notice yourself use phrases such as, ‘I must have gotten lucky…’, or use the word ‘luck’ to describe the good stuff? Or perhaps your minimize the good stuff and attribute it to hard work, or something similar. A suggestion is to be open to noticing the language you use when good stuff happens. Do you feel an inner pause when you make a qualifying statement? The pause may indicate your awareness of somethingmore. Be the noticer of the good stuff. See if you can notice the good stuff in a way you may notice the notsogood stuff. Notice the story you tell. Can you be open to slowing down the qualifying statement, and just allow the good stuff to be what is. Good stuff happens. Can you allow it and be with it without a qualifying statement?
  2. Are you open to the possibility of accepting the power and possibility of wishes? Are you open to the possibility of wishes made during the innocence of youth that may be pulling you today? Can you be open to considering wishes you made at a young age? Can you be open to considering the essence of the wish? Did you wish for truth? Did you wish understanding? Did you wish for forgiveness? Did you wish for acceptance? Did you wish for possibility? Did you wish for the freedom to be exactly who you are? Did you wish to know yourself exactly as are you?
  3. What did you want to ‘be’ when you were young? ‘Young’ is a relative term. Can you go back to childhood with the intention to ‘remember’ what you loved, what you played, what you imagined? Can you strip it to its essence – did you want to play? did you love to be challenged? did you love to entertain? — ask why. Can you be open to the somethingmore pulling you toward the same desired outcome? Can you allow the openness to possibility? Even if only temporarily in the moment you read this. Open to the possibility of somethingmore. Allow the feeling of possibility to exist in the mind, heart, belly, muscles, skin.
It’s this guy’s birthday today. I think I am just realizing he is a teenager today!
