Over the last few weeks, I have spent a bit of time in a kindergarten STEM classroom.
The teacher uses song to teach big ideas. The engineering design process was taught using song and gesture. I woke up this morning singing the song: ask, imagine, plan, create, test, improve.
As I sat in Quiet Time, I changed the ‘create’ to ‘make’ to align with the way I think. To my mind, the design process is creative as the intention is to create new, improved (better) outcomes.
The design process aligns with abetterway book club and its focus on using executive skills intentionally as self care practices.
March is planning, and today’s excerpt is titled plan..
A simple idea: The design process is problem solving. The steps are executive skills.
Last week, I referenced a Mark Cuban 90-minute masterclass that simplified a business approach to begin by asking: can I do it better?
I have heard other entrepreneurial suggestions to ask the question: what problem can I help solve?
Due to time available this morning to blog, I will leave it at that.
Here is plan. :
