Yesterday I began a 15 week yoga philosophy experience/course as a student of Jordan Smiley. The class of nine will meet three weekends a month through November.
As a way of introducing ourselves to one another, we were asked to share our yoga journey.
I have written about my experience attending yoga classes that began at a 24 hour fitness studio, extended to a summer in the mountains, evolved to several years of ‘donating’ to a local studio for months before canceling and then joining again with the same result.
Yoga eventually manifested in my life as something I eagerly attend and look forward to.
I learned yesterday that in simplest terms, yoga means ‘now’.
I had learned through the years that yoga is another word for ‘yolk’, to bring together mind and body.
Yoga is morning Quiet Time.
Jordan shared a podcast listen that I would like to pass on.
Specifically, the conversation defined the terms healing, transformation, love, and living in inclusive, abundant, life affirming ways. The title of the interview is: How to Survive the End of the World. The title of the podcast is: Becoming the People.
