If you are new to following my blog, I usually post on the weekends. I work in schools and it’s summer break which is kind of like one long Saturday. Enjoy this post on a June Monday…

“When I create a time to focus on planning a road trip, all of a sudden the road trip becomes a reality.”

I follow Simon Sinek on Instagram. His feed often has recorded clips of him from what appear to be podcast conversations. A recent clip that resonated with me suggested that…⏯️ – 💭🤔was it Simon Sinek or James Clear? – ▶️ It was either Simon or James. Anyway, a recent clip suggested that any contributing habit or skillbuilding that is done/practiced repeatedly for 20 minutes a day will have beneficial results. The caveat is that there is no promise of when the results will appear. I think you know this. The question posed might have been: ‘If you knew that a certain behavior would produce beneficial results when practiced daily for 20 minutes, but you did not have certainty over when the results would show up, would you practice the behavior?’ (apparently I posted the video of Simon saying this in a recent blog…one long Saturday…)
Now let’s throw in a recent Adam Grant post:

(PS. I know I tend to feature shares from white educated men within my general age range…but, I like them 🤷♀️)
Speaking of road trips, I just took an extended drive with intentional stops in college towns to share my hard content (see photo which was taken at the Graduate Hotel in Oxford, Mississippi) while on my way to the ultimate vacation destination in Southwest Florida 😉…where I sit as I write/compile this blog post.
The following are social media posts from the road trip/extended drive to the quiet summer of the secluded paradise of Riverwood ☀️ 🐊

I had one additional drop with Sandy in the lobby of Graduate Oxford just before I left. Sandy was finishing a Zoom interview. I heard ‘school’ and I knew she was closing the interview. I approached and asked if she worked in schools. She works in administration at Michigan State Universtity. Her daughter was in Oxford to start a PhD program. Just months ago, Sandy was locked down in her campus office as a shooting took place a block away. She was still visibly quite affected as she openly began to share the experience. It’s unfortunate ‘the drop’ was so relevant.
And that was the road trip. I ended up the last night in Tallahassee and didn’t have the desire to do Florida State. I was also running out of money. I intended to spend the fourth night in Auburn. Next summer Auburn will have a Graduate hotel. Stay tuned for Graduate Athens in a few weeks.
