“How do I desire to show up and express myself?” asked the octopus.

On Thursday, June 29, I returned to a very green and beautiful Denver, Colorado after being gone for most of the month. I had left town on a very wet Sunday, June 4.

It’s always a good experience for myself to leave 27 E, because it feels different when I return – I see things differently. I wasn’t sure if the vibrant colors in the neighborhood as well as the mountain view was something I had been missing (as in, I didn’t notice its beauty in the daytoday), or if it was a result of something else. It rained a lot in June – moreso than typical. It was a gorgeous and uplifting homecoming.

In last week’s blog june., I mentioned the trip and a new route back to Denver. I would like to shoutout New Orleans. ‘There’s something about New Orleans.‘ My experience of NOLA is like my experience of wine: it was just this thing, until it was a thing. A 24 hour stay in the summer of 2016 (I think) transported me from wanting to leave as soon as I arrived, to feeling a mystical intrigue in this dense space on a historic waterfront in Louisiana. I had the same but different experience of Savannah, Georgia the first time.

Something more…

I only stopped briefly, for beignets, but had a fun, unexpected surprise in sharing my stickers.

A typical festive vibe before 10am on a Monday…

I also want to shoutout Louisiana State University. It was later in the day, I had been driving and had done Tulane after the beignets. It was also quite hot. But. There was something about LSU. The trees lining the campus were magnificent.

June 26, 2023 – LSU school campus.

There were a number of highlights from the June Road Trip that I will continue to share (much to my own enjoyment). Many moments captured. So much goodness. I especially loved the book drops. I was always met with a bright, eager, hope-full look of a young person’s face when I asked if they would be interested in me sharing my content for themself or a friend. I also loved the surprise of finding a little free library. If I recall correctly, I found LFL’s to ‘drop’ my books in Excelsior Springs, MO; on campus at Tulane University; slightly off campus at LSU; and on campus at Wichita State University in Kansas. I dropped sets of books in Kearney MO (friend), Kansas City MO (corepoweryoga), Lawrence KS (1900barker), Bentonville AR (yogastory), Fayetteville AR (graduate hotel front desk), Oxford MS (multiple: otf, grad hotel x 2), Port Charlotte FL (parents), Tallahassee FL (orangetheoryfitness), New Orleans LA (mushroomsmokeshop), Norman OK (bookstore), Stillwater OK (starbucks).
